Default Help with Parrot CK3000 Install - Using Built-in Mic

Hi All,
I've reviewed a lot of posts on DIY Parrot bluetooth install on the Bose Concert stereo and have 2 questions:
1) Most of the installs use the mic provided by Parrot. Has anyone been able to use the built-in mic in the A-pillar that Audi already has? Based on the connector pin-out for the back of the Bose Concert radio, I believe the mic (+) and (-) inputs to stereo are pins 3 and 4 of the 10-pin IV connector labeled "Tel (low freq + and low Freq -)", correct? If true, how do we hook these to the Parrot box?

2) I understand that we use the switched 12+ volts (orange wire) from the fuse box. Do we need to connect the unswitched 12+ wire (red) as well?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I hooked up a Motorola HF1000 to mine. IIRC I could not use the factory mic because of the ohms of the factory mic it was incompatible to the system. IIRC I hooked up the unswitched.

Default Microphone

There is a tech article https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec12.shtml that is pre-bluetooth, but may give you some clues.

FWIW, when I did my install, I cut out the OEM microphone and mounted the supplied one in its place. It has worked perfectly.

Good Luck

I don't think you want to do that. The Parrot mic is very directional. I think you want it as close to your mouth as possible and pointed directly at it. The lower the volume of the mic and the less work the noise cancelling as to do, the better you sound. I saw one DIY where a guy hid the mic in the plate around the dome light switches. Might look good, but that mic has to point at your mouth.

I've had mine (CK3100 on mine) on the visor for 3 years. Works terrific! Best car toy I've ever bought.

Guys, thanks for your responses. I'll use the parrot mic and mount it close to the center mini-visor.
