Default here's how my diy piano black came out...

Not perfect, but not bad for a couple spray cans. The interior is MUCH darker now, but I like it. Next round I'll find my HVLP gun and my air compressor. Cost me about $30 from start to finish. The reason I started this was because the trim's clear coat was cracking from my previous job 3 years ago.

Looks great, but not enough contrast IMO. I like the silver with your interior color.

Default Second........................I'd repaint with silver in mind...looks better than piano black...

I'd also keep the base around the shifter black but I would respray it. Then the silver will read as a nice bold line across the dash and doors only.....NICE

I'm taking a break while changing my spark plugs.....three plugs down...three more to go...

Default Yeah, spray clear coat isn't good as a clear coat.

Was acrylic lacquer clear.

Default Maybe try polishing more

I shot mine with cans of lacquer and Wurth lacquer clear coats. LOTS of wet sanding & polishing between all coats tho
