I graduated to my A4 from a Blue/Black 1992 Saturn SL2. 5-speed, w/sunroof spoiler and the upgraded stereo w/indash CD player which turned out to be an excellent stereo. That stereo sounded significantly better than the Concert (non-Bose) system in my A4, and almost as good as the custom system I had installed in my previous car (before subwoofers became popular).<p>I put 145,000 miles on the SL2 (along with a +25HP upgrade) before selling it to my best friend. He put an engine in it (I had spun a bearing) and it is still going strong. <p>I have seen other people here mention owning a Saturn before their A4. I was beginning to wonder how many of us there are..<p>Even the waving thing someone mentioned here a few threads back in this forum.... When I first got my Saturn it was in early 1992 which was only the second year of production. Not that my masculinity has ever been challenged (nor do I care). <p>I wanted a white or light colored car this time around and fell in love with the Pearl paint despite some discomfort with what I perceived as effeminate overtones (I like purple too, but never thought of it as effeminate.
