Default i did a search- tiptronic tranny chip from GIAC

i did search and found lots of info but still have a few questions for the few that have the Tiptronic Tranny. I read that it improves shifting from a 1 seceond delay to a .2 second delay causing the car to shift smoother. So from what i gathered it will for the most part do away with the jerkeyness of the tranny while shifting most noticed from 1st to 2nd gear? i understand that the tranny ECU is located under the passanger seat so is not noticed if examining the engine. If i get the Tip chip and my tranny goes or if i have problems with the tranny will my warenty be voided for the tranny? i read that the dealer will only know if you tell them and it is not noticable if hooked up to a diagnostic machine. is this true? does it make a difference in the Auto mode and in the Tiptronic mode? i got the impression it is more notticable in the Auto mode for some reason??? is it worth gettin the tiptronic chip before getting the GIAC engine ECU chip? i would be having it installed at AWE, does anyone know the cost of install offhand? im guessing around $50?

Default Lots of people have them, just late on a Sunday night

Yes your warranty can be voided just like a engine chip.

I also believe that all shifts at all times are faster as the tranny chip increases preasure in it, thus increasing fluid flow and making the tranny last longer. Something like that, that I have read here on AW.

Most problems from the Tip chip is bad installation and the chip becomming loose and bad connections.

I myself plan to get one in the near future.
Ask this question Monday during the day for more responses though most people will still tell you to search the archives.

Default i dont have it, but..

the install doesnt look bad.. the write-up for it is in the tech section... dont waste the money to have it installed at awe... also, i would recommend getting the engine chip first.. if you have $250 for mod money, just save up til you have enough for the engine chip.. it's like getting a whole new car.. lastly, if im not mistaken, the chip comes on a whole new ecu, so if you have tranny problems, you can switch back to the stock tranny ecu.. hope that helps..

Default Is it really worth it?

I really dislike the Pause between shifts. Would this tip chip really make a noticable difference? Will this cause any long term damage if used for like 100,000 miles?

I have a 99 A4 1.8tq btw.
