Default ECU upgrades

Does anyone here have any experience with chip mods? I have seen reports on the Hoppen, Wetteraur, GIAC, TAP, and AMS. With my tiptronic, will it be able to handle the enormous addition of torque that all these chips boast? Or will my tranny get fried in the first week?
Thanx for the help.

Default GIAC x 2

I use the GIAC engine chip and the GIAC tip chip. Supposedly 307-310 horse, 360 ft lbs. I like the combo in my A6 2.7T. Made a big diffin both the tranny and the engine. Got the tip chip which shifts quicker (less slippage) and will reduce heat and probably prolong trans life. Get it! Making your tranny last is largely a matter of how you drive, you can blow the tranny with stock power if you are doing all out boost launches etc.

what tranny is this for? tiptronic? i have heard that putting more than 320 lb-ft into the tiptronic can cause premature clutch wear. any problems yet?

Chip is for tiptronic trans. Stock trans shifts very lazy, lot of slippage between 1-2 and 2-3, and shifts slowly ( to keep it smooooth ). The tip chip causes it to shift much much quicker and limits the slip between gears. It improve the performance and will help protect the tranny.

The tranny can take the power under normal driving conditions just fine. Under abusive conditions you can blow that tranny with or without the engine chip. Boost launches = abusive. Braking the car while you build boost then side stepping the brake can produce great off the line acceleration but can also break things.....
