No need to touch the bulb when installing
I just put mine in 2 days ago.
The bulbs are packaged so that you can pull them out from the bottom handling the metal posts the whole time.
You insert them into the headlight hole bulb first, so there should be no need to touch the bulb with your fingers.
And yes, you will shorten their life if oil from your hands gets on the bulb.
I just put a plastic baggie over my hand as I plugged it in, in case I did accidentally touch the bulb.
