I need help..... check engine light......stage III
So my check engine light came on I would say two days after installing APR Stage III and the code that came up is a "catalyst system efficiency below threshold" what does that exactly mean. Do I not have my cat. bolts tight enough? What do you guys think? Any help would be much apriciated.

DBW? They will sometimes set that code if you don't get the cat warmed up quickly enough. Clear it
and you should be good to go. When you start the car cold if you don't let it idle or drive like a total granny (not advising to abuse the car before fully warmed) it likely won't 'come back'. Some folks never get that code .. others do from time to time.

it has been known to happen on a few cars...
it isnt anything to worry about. Clear the code. You may want to check a couple of things though.
-do you have the latest engine code?
-are your 02 sensors screwed into the cat well?
-Get yourself signed up for the stage III forum

I have cleared the code ......
and it always seems to come up when I have been driving it for a little bit. I am DBW and I have the CH box if that is what you mean by latest engine codes. I will double check my O2 sensors, but I think they should be good, I have tryed to e-mail the guy about the SIII forum but it tells me that my e-mail was not sent so I dont know.

I wouldn't sweat that code... I have it pretty much since day one...
Just means the cat isn't heating up as fast as it should. Since you have the high flow cat. Doesn't affect anything.
To some people the light is a pain. To me it isn't.

Hmmm .. I know others with a test pipe say they get it .. usually DBWs tho. From what I understand
the nDBWs aren't as prone to tossing that code if a test pipe is run. The 1/8th pipe does have a second bung...correct?

Yes...
The CEL popped on after about 30 minutes and has been on since. I asked Rob at MP to clear the codes when i was in for something or other, but it was staring me in the face.
Test pipe has both o2 bungs, and the o2s are in.
I VAG'd it with Skabaru and saw it was the cat error, so its not another code.
Funny because MB has the same setup but no CEL.
I need to emulate it even after i do the cat because id rather wire in an emulator to turn off the CEL rather than run o2 wires down to a repositioned cat (why bother with more wires) only to have that trigger because its still a HFC, after all.
Any ideas let me know
Cheers,

thats normal becase you dont have a cat.
if you drive around 2500rpms its will happen more. try to keep them over 3k. also buy a emulator for 20 bucks and the problem will go away.
