Default Its also quite possible that

another control module connected to the data bus is causing a communication error, or an aftermarket HU is connected to the data bus when it shouldn't be.

To test this theory, start removing control module fuses and see if you can't restore communication with the airbag module that way. It has worked for me in the past to eliminate faulty modules.

Default Refer to your fuse card

And remove them one at a time. The fuse card will tell you which fuses are for each control module, some modules will have more than one fuse.
