idling at 1800 and no codes???

Default idling at 1800 and no codes???
my 97 audi 2.8 quattro is idling at 1800 even after it is warmed up. also there is no check engine light? i don't get it? the only thing i can think of is i have a very minor exhaust leak by the muffler but doubt that can be it

i remembered removing the throttle body and not adjusting the cruise control. i just did that now and got it down to 1200.....but thats still a bit high...

Check the operation of the bypass idle valve. May need a throttle body alignment, but not sure if that applies to the 12v or not.
