infant car seat related
Two questions:
Do I need to disable the rear side window airbags if I install an infant car seat in the back?
If yes, how do I disable certain airbags? I have eight air bags.
Can I install the infant car seat in the middle to avoid the airbag issue altogether?
Thanks

I have mine in the middle, I don't have side airbags though.
Ours fits best in the middle otherwise I would have to pull my seat far forward. I found it more difficult to take in/out when it was on the outside.

You cannot disable them... car seat should always be in the middle if possible.
Also better car seats (Baby Trend Flex Lock was top rated recently) have side impact protection that should handle the airbag without issue. (It's one of the reasons they developed that technology). (Recaro pushes it also, but really their seats aren't the best for infants, best is for the Baby Trend, and then moving to the Recaro Toddler seat once they hit 20lbs.)
I have twin boys on the way, and trust me the research I've done is insane. Twins makes it so I can't put them in the middle, so I wanted to find out about side impact... lucky Consumer Reports did a test on it late last year.
