Default USAA quotes for Houston are very High!!!

I "will have" a 99.5 1.8TQMS in June. I received a quote today. I have a perfect driving record, mid thirties, drive 12 mi to work with middle of the road coverage and my insurance will be $1450/year with a 500.00 deductible through USAA. That is due to living and driving in Houston. When I lived in Madison, WI and Rochester, NY my insurance was half of what I will pay here. Theft, floods, fender-benders are big in Houston along with Big Hair/*****.
