Intake; initial impressions. Some borla stuff too..
I feel like I have a solid 10hp gain with my new borla. I don't know about horsepower but with this intake @ 5 -> 6k I am actually accelerating more! I just merged onto a highway from a dead stop. Out of 2nd gear WOT to 6k @ 40 <-> 50mph I speed matched a lincoln (not racing here). I went to third and instantly pulled past him at a 10+mph difference. At 4th gear with on and off throttle applications I get moving sooner with zero hesitation. It's funny b/c I was so used to just running basicly stock w/ a 1bar boost avg. With these mods you don't realize how fast you'll pick up speed untill you glance at the needle on the right.
There is just alot more airflow going on under the hood and car is pulling very strong. 60 to 80 is very fast.
The spinach eating mobil-1 drinking K-03 is a little more audiable as well as the bpv. This is a unique kit. It is harldy loud - just audiable. What is interesting about this kit is that you can hear the bypass valve open and close and detect if you have a weak bpv spring (boost leak). This gave me a good feel for what's going on. More driver attachment to car..me gusta.
Overall is it very quiet and the 'chhhhhhhhh' (bpv in action) is hardly more audiable then with the stock airbox setup! IMHO this is how I'd prefer it. Just enough to hear it and easily troubleshoot a problem.
The power is there. I figure on a humid day the intake and bpv volume will increase as did my stock setup.

Re: What chip do you have in the car? Where did you get the exhaust?
I have the borla exasut and Apr's v3.0 chip. Today I was seeing a contstant 18psi.
Exasut from turbo5.com
Fwiw: I had only driven it for about 15 minutes.

Alright.. So when are you testing the Saw Mill ??
Tell me, so i'll know to stay clear. I wouldn't want to interfere, when you start testing the "banks"... Know what i'm saying ..

I'll be sure to watch out... ;-) Hey Al..
How are you liking the Supersprint?
I wanted to make it to the last Nyc Metro: Rapid Parts meet but I was installing my exasut! Did you make it? Did Hibby see any rain that day?
Have a nice holiday.
