Default Just installed the Stratmosphere Short Shifter - AWESOME!!

Man I sure was nervous messing with the shifter at first. I studied the directions a million times and bought all the recommended stuff from the "Tech" section on AUDIWORLD. I sure needed every bit of that equipment. It took me about 2 hours to get in installed. My most frustrating moment was getting the Circlip off. I had the tool but I guess it was a piece of crap. Stratmosphere also included a complete set of directions in their shipment which was very helpful and handy cause I just followed it step by step. Let me tell you, once I drove it, I felt sheer pleasure. It felt SOLID, like a true performance automobile. I hadn't tried the Neuspeed or other manufacturers of the Short Shift kit, so I can't compare; but it beats the stock shifter my a million. An absolutely, highly recommended worthwhile modification. My next project will be the FORGE BPV. A bit nervous about that too!!!

Default hehe sweet... =o) Just make sure to double check the bolts in a couple days and make sure they don't

loosen up. The loctite will set after the first 24 hours but go back in and double check, you won't need to tighten anything just make sure they don't loosen... metal to metal that is, not metal to plastic =)

Default Glad you like the SS.

I had used some crappy snap-ring pliers as well...It kept slipping off the rings, until i finally decided to bend the little nubs inwards. It went much smoother after that.

BTW, I installed a Neuspeed SS, not a Strat SS.

Default BTW, Paul...why did you install the 4 spacers underneath the shifter "rails"?

Do you notice a difference with and without it?

Default the idea is to lift UP the shifter assembly so that the angle of the linkage is as close to stock

as possible...

Default Do the shifts feel smoother with the spacer on as compared to not installing them?

I have four 2-3 mm plastic spacers laying around I could use if it is worth it. What do you think?
