My K04ed A4 18TQ performs like k03 chipped!
I have a chip, made by a local tuner that claims it is suitable for the K04 turbo. Boost spikes to 18psi at 3000RPM and tapers down to steady 13 psi till redline.
But the car is way slower than it should be.
I have similar performance to the following cars (our club cars - chipped only)
Skoda Octavia 2002 4x4 1.8T
Passat 1999 18T
and also I am slower than a Leon 1.8T 180PS!
I have tried also a Neuspeed k04 chip with a 5bar FPR, but it performed even worse! Actually, I was running way reach, even with the OEM 4bar FPR.
Do you think that a chip from a well known tuner (GIAC k04) will give me The missing power or something is wrong with my car?
What is the expected wheel power with this setup?
I am running on EURO 98 RON gas ( I thing similar to 93 Octane in US)
My current mods;
Audi A4 18TQ manual 1998, K04, Milltek Cat-back, BMC filter , OEM 4bar FPR,
Bosch F5DPOR plugs.
Here are the numbers that my AP-22 accelerometer shows

18m 2.30s 0.41g 49.2kph
101m 6.57s 0.22g 88.8kph
201m 10.06s 0.18g 115.3kph
402m 15.68s 0.14g 141.8kph
0-100kph 8.46s 0.21g 0.138km
Pk Power: 136.3kph 14.51s 0.356km 171hp
Peak G: 20.7kph 0.73s 0.002km 0.71g

Re: Put a GIAC chip in there and get back with us....not sure about this "local tuner."
Yes,
I think that this program is not very well tuned
for a K04.
Any comment on the air/fuel , ignition curves?
