Left '01 2.8q in for some work today (since it has a warranty) and have an '08 S-line a4 2.0q...
not bad. At least I will have an extended test drive on this car until Monday night. I have beeen thinking about getting on '05.5 or '06 2.0
For her A4 they have to replace the instument cluster, rear wheel bearing, and a couple O2 sensors. The cluster was not in stock and will be the second replacement to be put in. The first replacement was in '02.

wow $3k is high, but if it paid for itself. I was going to get mine CPO'd for half that but I'm glad
that I didn't because the things to fail in the last 55k miles have been the turbo, clutch, and a wheel bearing -- which only the WB would've be covered and I only paid a hour of labor to have the bearing pressed. Other than that, it's been vac lines or the L hose or other little things that are below $50. rest, maintenance items or mod replacements/failures.

We bought the car new. So to get a warranty as good as CPO'd cost a small fortune...
but she loves that car.
Every possible option that was offered for an early '01 except Nav or ESP. The sport seats (S4 seats) the dealer didn't even know they were optional, but she has them.

I was really thinking about that. Unfortuantely I want MTM again...
and I don't think they do trial software. But the power band is nice. However the k04 in my B5 is more fun than the stock S-line. I could see software blowing away my k04 easily with the 2.0 TFSI

so did I. dealer said it was going to be about $1500 to get CPO at 50k. basically, you become the
2nd (and, obviously the first) owner of the car by the dealer buying it from you, C'ing it, and selling it back to you for $1500 + anything the car needs to qualify to be CPO.
that's what I was offered. I declined because of all of the mods, and the car already had a TON of things replaced while under warranty. I gambled the odds and won, imo.

Sales taxes and the paperwork would have added to the CPO costs...
our dealer wanted to make a profit one way or another. $3k bought 5 more years or 100k total. So, shes been doing about 12k per year so this worked out fine.
