Default Looking for good octane in Canada

Wondering if anyone can help me out. Sunoco has 94 octane for the same price as everyone else sells there 92 and 93. Is there any way the gas companies play with the numbers?

Default I just put the 94 octane in my car and i can see a real difference...(more)

but i don't think it is the same price as the 91 octane others sell (I don't think anyone else offers 92 octane other than Sunoco, No one that I know of offers 93 octane). Sunoco does not offer the same octane as other companies. Other companies increase the octane by 2 at every level: 87 octane 89 and 91. But Sunoco's increments are of 2.5 NOT 2. therefore they have 87 as base regular gas 89.5 and 92...and then they have a Ultra gas of 94 octane. To reply to the original question, Sunoco's 94 octane is not the same price as others 91 octane. the 91 octane costs $0.10 more than the regular 89 Sunoco's 94 octane cots $0.12 more than the regular 89.
This is just my opinion as to what I have observed. Not sure if this is the case elsewhere.
Hope this helps

Default High Octane in Canada

Yeah, I put Sunoco 94 in my chipped A4 and always go to the pump that's solely dedicated to Sunoco 94 (i.e. not a mixer pump where you push a button to select the grade) Onemax is right about the price. It's $0.12 more than regular. Sunoco offers 4 grades of fuel: regular (87), mid-grade (89), premium (91 or 92), and ultra (94) of which all contain ethanol. Petro Canada's premium fuel is rated at 91. Esso's is rated at 92. I think Shell's is 92 as well. Pioneer offers a 93 but I had a bad experience with them a few years back in my old car. I believe they all charge $0.10 above regular gas price for premium blend. I've never had a problem with Sunoco gas in my neighbourhood (Ottawa). I went to Toronto and filled up at Sunoco mixer pump. I noticed more pinging than usual. Luckily, I keep a bottle of 104 Octane boost in the trunk. Fixed it up fine. Hope this helps.
