the official manual tranny 0-60 time for a 330xi will be 6.9 seconds. if the current 2.8 quattro manual makes it in 7.1 i can't wait to see how fast it will be when we get the new 3 liter. goodbye bmw!

I bet A4 3.0 Quattro should be able to make 6.4 0-60 time with rumored 225hp

My sis-in-law has an '89 325ix. What do you mean by "nonintrusive"?

Is there a 3.0L-6 in our future?
I've been away from Audiworld for the past several weeks (tentatively decided to go with a 330i--no flames please), but may have to reconsider if there's an opportunity to get mid-6's from normally aspirated A4 quattro.
Can someone pls clue me in as to the relative timing of this 3.0 litre? Is it rumor/speculation, or has Audi actually made the announcement? Thanks,
hts

Umm...rear bias would likely be a superior setup at cornering limits...
This would allow throttle attitude (steering) control at the limit while retaining the advantages of AWD. It could be the best of both worlds.

Re: I'm curious. This isn't the 1st time BMW did AWD...
In 1990 I bought a new BMW 325iX and picked it up at the factory in Munich. Although the nuts and bolts of the AWD system is different than the current Quattro, it was full time and did the trick of getting me home in the snow, first in Germany and later in Colorado. The main difference between the 325iX and my '98 A4 1.8TQ is that I was constantly fixing little things on the BMW from almost the beginning. With the A4 I have 43k miles now and apart form routine service, nothing has needed to be repaired yet. And oh yes, it does seem that the A4 is a tad bit more capable in the snow.
