Love-Hate relationship with my 2.8
Soooo...here I am, all proud of my brand new first few mods (rs4 grille and clear corners), pondering how beautiful she is with her new facelift. In fact she is so pretty, I decide to treat her to a fresh oil change and a TB job which I owed to her anyway.
Then...
I dropped her off to get TB job done, and I figured she would appreciate some new brake pads which she has been nagging me about.
Well..
the mechanic calls me and tells me that my cam tensioner gaskets need to be replaced = another $500 or so to my bill. See what happens when you leave your baby in the hands of another man.
Seriously though, is this a common problem? Is there anything I can do by way of preventive measure for this not to happen again? Or was it just time for the gasket to go?

too true. sometimes i just want to cry...err...
...you know in the manly - watching the end of a good war movie so it's ok for me to cry because something traumatic just happenned kind of way.
