Default M3 Kill Story

Last night I'm coming home from the Leonids shower, and I'm pumped chock-full 'o adrenaline. I know I can take the world, so I'm doing like 140 on the highway, and pull up to a light after I exit, where there's this M3.

So this guy's all decked out, wearing a jacket, with sport wheels and tires, and he's ready to rock.

The light turns green, and my awesome Quattro launch throws me forward. He gears down, and starts to pass me in 1st. I pull quickly through first, and shift into second, and he starts to become smaller and smaller. By the time I shift into 3rd, he is but a tiny speck.

Eventually, I catch up to him at the next light, where he was nice enough to slow down for a sec, and give him a thumbs-up.

And how many wheel horsepower are you laying down? Sounds a little sketchy; was it a E34 or E36?

Default I don't get this:

"The light turns green, and my awesome Quattro launch throws me forward. He gears down, and starts to pass me in 1st."

He gears down? You said this was from a light.

It was a joke. The real story involves me watching an M3 blast off for trying to pass him.

That's OK. It's not usually very good. But it's still humor....

Default LOL - duh. BTW, I had the same experience with my buddy's '99 M3 - but I smoked him....

Back in '99, my 12V against his new white M3. Windows down, light turned green - GO!

1st gear, Quattro Launch, he was gone spinning his tires. Then after about 1 second, he was almost right next to me and pulling fast.

I shift into 2nd as we where side by side, rev the crap out of the motor and let go the clutch. The rpm continued to rise as he continued to pull away, but only for a brief moment.

He pulled over shortly, and so did I. He shouted - "f#$%! I blew up my car! I blew my car! - as he exited from his smoke filled cabin.

Then, he looked at my car with a lot of smoke comming out of the transmission, and puzzled - he said, wait, "you blew you car!"

Ah those slipping clutch days are over Still can't beat an e36 and up M3 though.
