why dont you use a voltage tester(or a bulb) while running the blinkers

Default here.

There are 3 wires that go into the back of the stock turn signal plug. The colors change from driver's side to passenger side, but there are 2 thick wires and one thin one, the thin one is the "parking/safety light" wire. Its the one that keeps the parking lights constantly on. (the other 2 wires are a "ground" and the one that makes your turn signals blink)

Yeah I was kidding...but I've testes 9v batteries with my tongue to see if there's any juice left in it. 12-14V from a car may give you nice taste in your mouth. I wouldn't recommend it.
