Mark and others who have Schroth Rallye 4 harnesses: did you have problems getting the lap belt low
enough to fit across your hips correctly? I installed the driver's side on saturday for Pocono North on sunday and was actually doing the final adjustments before tech inspection. I have the rear part of the harness extended as far as possible and the shoulder sections open most of the way and the belt still doesn't sit low enough for me. I have my seat set to 1 notch up from the lowest point of the booster seat adjustment. I'm 5'10" and 185 lbs, so I have the seat positioned in the middle somewhere for normal driving, but I do move it up 1 notch and raise the back a little and pull the steering wheel closer for track events.
The only other thing that I can think of to "gain" more of the harness is to bend the rear brackets towards the front seat. This isn't going to get me much, but it could help. Also, I could also raise the seat another notch on the booster adjustment and see what happens, but I like it 1 notch up.
I am curious if others have had to deal with this. I would have thought the harness would have been bigger/longer to have more adjustments. Is there a safe way to lengthen the rear belt?

Hmm where did you attach the rear belts? I've always had plenty of room on mine
I'm the same height as you and I'm heavier...so I'm a bit perplexed. Maybe yours were cut too short?

in the stock locations of the rear passenger belt under the seat.
I dunno why, but the shoulder parts are fine, but the belt portion wants to stick up to far. so it's not across my hips correctly.
hmm... maybe I need to take some more time and check the adjustments, but I pretty sure that I have the rear part as far out as possible.

Ohhh IC so you're saying when you tighten the lap belt it won't get
tight around your hips...like it just bottoms out and you really need it to take up more belt? I'm a bit heavier than you...but at 185 I'd think you're at least average...so you should be able to get it tight...something is wrong. Unless you used the old Audi 90 rear center lap belt trick to avoid having to deal with the inside bolt? Cuz that makes the thing longer effectively...then you might not be able to get it tight...

no, I have enough belt to tighten it down. the problem is that it wants to go across my stomach and
not stay down across my hips. I pulled the lap belts down and it just increases the pressure on my stomach instead of going down to my hips.
