Mile marker post....
In recent months my A4 has improved substantially. After changing the gearbox I turned my attention to the suspension and brakes. Granted I already had decent suspension and brakes. Vogtland/bilsteins and 312mm Fronts / 255mm rears with stock calipers.
Since the Upgrade to porsche boxster 4 piston brembo calipers and my H-Sport sway bars, this car feels soo much more capable during agressive driving. I once again genuinely love this car.
What I still have to do, after some thinking about buying an 80q and building a toy car... its just not going to happen right now. I dont feel motivated to spend the time and money on another B chassis car when I am getting close to completion on my A4. What is left to do? well I've got to squeeze another 100hp from the V6, and that isnt going to be cheap or easy, but given how the car handles and brakes now I feel it is worth both the time and money.
What I've been chewing on mentally for the last six months plus is doing the ever controversial supercharged 12v. Why? a few reasons... first off I want more power and with a lot of luck & money I'll manage to make some more with this engine. Seccond, It needs to be done and being that nobody else around here is going to do it... I am. Also, I'm sick of the myths and dishonesty surrounding this one engine its time that somebody just do it already and post what is required and how to make it happen. While easier said than done, if my car doesnt encounter any major problems in the next 4 months I ought to have the expendable funds to buy the engine management, supercharger, ignition components and plumbing. I expect to have my A4 out of commission for a month or so while working on the whole mess this spring. I just got another raise at work and I now have comission which increases my expendable income and will help pay for some of what I expect to be a blatantly expensive expenditure with little to no residual value.
On another note
I also want another porsche... badly. I want another Platinum 944 with Fuchs wheels. I've got some unfinished business to sort out between me and a typ 944. I never got to tune my 944, so I think maybe this summer I'll buy another one, hopefully just like the one I had or perhaps in black. When I sold it I was too young, inexperienced and a poor *** student. With many thanks to AudiWorld & some of my friends I've learned quite a lot over the last 28 months,

yes I do remember the eating of my wallet
but the car was quite reliable... it always started, always got me where I needed to go and was lots of fun.
I might also look at a 1990 Carrera. Really it depends on what I'm making by then, if I can swing a car payment and still have fun with my A4 at the same time I might just get a nice porsche to start with. It seems that most of the 968's were cabriolets... I hate convertibles. My choice is simple... coupe & manual for either Carrera or 968... or most any porsche at that.

Re: yes I do remember the eating of my wallet
The 1990 c2 had headgasket issues(needed the have the cases re-machined), be careful, have a PPI done on the car. C2's are showing the typical 911 flaws, oil leaks, headstud failures, premature exhaust guide wear.
Make sure its had the vent kit installed for the distributor. When the belts snap on those duel distributors it can be a pricey fix.
Oh yes, check to see if it has the updated flywheel(orig, LUK's were bad).
They are a pretty bullit proof car but more costly to maintain then the average 911. Good luck.
