mother fvckin cv boot... another issue!
i cant get the joint to thread back into the hub for the life of me!
suggestions?
i will NEVER do another CV boot again.... EVER... when the drivers side goes i am bringing it to the shop... this isnt worth my time anymore

I hear ya, not a fun job. You have to get the splines to line up...
Rotate the axle back and forth until you feel it go in place. I couldn't get the thread to go back in all the way by pushing on it. So once I knew the splines were matched up, I then put the collar bolt back in and as you tighten that up it should pull it back in.
I didn't fully torque it down until I mounted the tire back on the car. I did not want to put too much pressure on the transmission.

dont have time for that... i need to drive the car... cant wait a week for a new axle>
plus i dont have the bit to remove the axle from the trans anyways
i'm sure a shop can get the splines to line up. im just done with it.

try cleaning the splines with a wire brush and putting a bit of grease on them to guide them in
once you get the shaft started enough to get the axle nut started u can then just crank it home
