Noisy air pump whines like crazy on start up but gets better....on its way out?

I see in the search that some have lasted 2 yrs or more noisy . Is this true? I may put up with it for a while its only whiney for 30 seconds or so.

It will be a lot louder if one of the hoses works it's way loose.

easy enough to check, and it may be the culprit.

If you need an air pump let me know. Ill let it go cheap since I dont need it.
