Odd Sound when turning

Yeah, so I put my car up on the lift the other night...
...and guess what I find---torn CV on the passenger side this time. Great! Luckily the dealer had the boot kit in stock, gotta do it before I leave on Thursday. Lifts are nice, but lately it seems that all they do is reveal more problems ;-)

There are no noises.
And yes, I realize that the joint could go bad at any time. However, I'd rather pay $18 now just to replace the boot and wait it out to see if the joint goes bad. If it does, fine, but if it doesn't then I'm glad I didn't spring for a whole new joint. Since I do the work myself, only thing I "lose" by doing it this way is having to do it over again....which takes an hour, at most.
