Thsi guy told me that they will do an intake mod for me for $40 ... K&N filter and remove the current intake and put int he new one.
Any advice or recommendations ? He said he had it on his A4 as well and it was nice.
Only thing is it does not have a heat shield

filter vs cone filter
The cone filter air intake mod consists of replacing the airbox with a cone filter, with the idea being that more air will be readily available when you hit the throttle. You essentially disconnect the snorkel part forward of the air box, but it remains in place to route some cooler air in. On the plus side you will be able to take in more air, on the down side you could take in a lot of engine bay heat and you may potentially have greater exposure to foreign elements.
What you get when you replace the air filter is that you get a free-er flowing filter element, but you just use the rest of the stock parts for the air intake.
