According to some post down below the 99.5 A4's are coming with the interior console and lighting changes. From what I had understood the only changes appearing were going to be the exterior ones. Am I to conclude that the head airbag system is also coming out in the 99.5's?<p>RB, future A4 driver- still deciding between a 99.5 and 2000 A4.

The only thing that isn't changing on the new 99's for us is we will not be getting the double DIN radio and in-dash CD player. Most other interior/exterior changes will be on the new North American A4's.<p>As for the head airbag system, I don't think the new '99s will have it, but I'm sure the 2000 models will since the 2000 S4 is getting it. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was an additional option on the A4. (don't quote me on that)<p>Matt

A. Get a 99.5 and drive it in a few weeks. You'll get all the great new features, and won't have to wait any longer.<p>B. Get '00 and ait probably an extra 5-6 months, but I am sure there will be at least something new offered on the '00 that the 99.5 doesn't have. If you really want the head bags and the 99.5 doesn't have them, you can always wait for the '00 model, maybe it'll have it. But just think, thats 6 extra months you'll be A4less.

Audi of America has not, to this date, officially announced that the North American A4's have the mechanical changes that the Euro models have. I assume that the new 99's have these mechanical modifications, but I personally cannot confirm it.<p>If the mid-year 99s don't have them, then the 2000 models should. At least that what I believe<p>Matt

iF I'M NOT MISTAKEN, THE 2000 A4 WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SPRING OF 2001. i BELIEVE IT WILL BE UNVIELED IN SPRING OF 00 AND PRODUCES AFTER THAT POINT., TAKING ANOTHER 8-9 MONTHS TO GET TO THE US IN FORCE. aLSO THE 00 WILL LOOK MUCH MUCH DIFFERENT, MORE LIE THE A6.
