srly I wanted them for the look myself. My last set lasted a long time.
I had zimmerman rotors and mintex pads on my silver A4 for almost 4 years (60K or so) and when I replaced them they still had another 30k to 40K so they really didn't act like cheese graters. I also felt that b/c of the less surface space and ability to cool down, they wore the pads less.
