Opinions needed: Turbo upgrade
Car is finally paid off, looking to upgrade my turbo
Looking to get around 300 whp with some daily driveability
Options:
1)Wait for APR Stage 3+
2)APR Stage 3 now, upgrade to 3+ when it comes out
3)ATP Turbo Kit GT28RS or GT2871R Turbo & Mika tuned software
DUH FMIC or APR Z Flow(whenever that will come out)
Already have a Southbend HD clutch with LW flywheel
(might upgrade to the SS)

Im feelin iffy about ATP unless you realy put some tuning into it...
maybe its decent but i still feel skeptical.
Is APR stage 3+ EVER coming out?
I have to say APR stage 3 seems liek the bast option, and if 3+ ever comes out, upgrade, and if it dosent go bigger and tune it somehow.
or dump an assload of money and get the dahlback 360 hp kit.
thats what id like to do eventualy.
to me it seems like the safest way to get alot of hp. but with quite a price tag.

Dahlbach 280hp kit
goes for around $4800(injectors, software, turbo)
360hp kit goes for $10K
Intake manifold $2K
How is is their chip, does it compare to GIAC & APR?

I like their chip ALOT.....
Its extremely smooth, a friend w/ a K04 car (AWE) commented on how it almost feels like its not realy turboed, I kind of disagree, but you dont get that realy choppyness, esp when letting off. Im faster than my buddys 180 TT (he has GIAC, he had originaly told me he also got dahlback, but then he said he got it flash-loaded, dahlback dosent do that, that i know of anyway) but he has the GIAC, borla catback, and an injen intake, and im faster, not by a real lot but i am
It spikes to 20-21 psi and settles at 16-18 holds to 5200 or so and drops to 12 or so by 6500 (damn tiny turbo)
Its extremely torquey and smooth, ive driven a giac car, and been in an APR car, i prefer Dahlback over both, and not just because I have it.
I also may have a slight edge because of my test pipe also, but either way im quite happy with it, oh and on WOT high RPM shifts and when downshifting after decelerating in gear at lower RPMs (below 3000 rpm) there is an occasional pop with a small flame out of the tail pipe...gotta love high boost and no cat.
need to catch it on video one of these days, and make an animated .gif for my sig lol.

Their chips are ok, not all that great on 91 octane
but like the xchip tend to like higher octane. Doing testing at LACR(2700ft) a friend running the dahlback chip went from 16.0-16.2 on 91 octane to 15.4 after adding some 100 octane into the tank.

that 280 hp kit is actualy lookin pretty damn good, all id need is Injectors and turbo...
I have exhaust with a test pipe.
I basicaly copied their intake.
I already have their software, and get free upgrades.
So if i get the turbo and injectors itll prob cost me 3800-4200
thats not HORRIBLE for a proven and reliable 280 hp and 300 ft/lbs, prob with minimal lag.
