Default OT... Washington DC license plates

Why do they say "taxation without representation" on the bottom?

Default because.....

1. DC is not considered a state. They are although taxed.
2. DC only has a mayor...
3. there are no state representatives in DC for tax laws to actually take place.

Default not really..... DC taxes are extremely high. When it shouldn't be.

They actually have to deal with paying state taxes when they aren't a state.. would you be happy about that? It's like donating items and not getting a tax deduction.

Default okay..

well, DC does pay taxes but they are not a state.. its the whole "no taxation without representation" thing from the civil war. It was a quazi basis for our whole revolt against england.. when in reality, it was only a small part.
DC was allowed to have their own government for a while, but it failed.. and they went back to congress's control.
