Default the paper birch is my state tree and now my favorite tree too.....

a large hemlock lost it's top during the ice storm here in the north east taking out most of the limbs off a nearby maple. a 5 inch diameter birch next to my A4 caught all of this debris and kept it from hitting my car.

Default I own 3 chain saws, and a tractor, and got to exercise NONE. I was bummed..

But at the same time, happy that we never lost power.

Default a guy I work with literally prepared for the end of the world.

Automated generator backups, chain saws, gasoline supplies, etc.

Across the street they lost power at his house. He never went down.

Default I'd have been all over helping people. I love using my big power tools =)

I'd go NOW, but at 15mph, it would take me a while to get to southern NH.. =)

Default that in itself is reason enough to have a small generator handy to run heaters and stoves to melt

snow/ice for water.

Default with a gen i could have pumped water....

but the pump is hard wired so it's not that simple and there isn't any snow. i have a gas stove so melting wouldn't have been a problem.
