A poem I wrote: Opinions? Feelings?
Pride for the flag
On a cool, crisp morning, silence shattered.
Invisible evil to blame.
Two towers torn by terror,
to which there was no name.
Though united we stand,
many fell.
As the sky filled with flames,
of hell.
Innumerable lives were taken,
by heartless freedom-thieves.
A nation soiled by senseless acts,
of fear and false beliefs.
We will not forget.
We'll never forgive.
For, emotions that were felt,
brought a nation closer in spirit,
as prayer and hope was dealt.
Overcome we shall.
A country great we are.
Pride for the Eagle.
Pride for the flag.
Pride for the stripes and stars.

Well done, Charlie. Thanks...you reminded me that my friends & I
wrote a blues song on Tues. night, in a bourbon-soaked state, waxing philosophical.
I wrote down the lyrics. Maybe I can find them.
