POLL: Do replaced Symphony head units work any better?...
We've all seen a million posts saying: "Hey,
my stereo changes settings by itself", etc...
Has anyone who's been lucky enough to get a
new head unit had success with the new unit
or do the same old problems eventually creep
back in?
Mine's changed frequency once, and blinks
every so often. I'm wondering if it's even
worth trying to get on the replacement list.
Thanks to anyone with information!

Mine didn't, but ...
Mine has not worked. According to Audi, they believe that mine was a mix-up. As I posted earlier, the "bad" unit need the software reprogrammed. It is not a hardware issue (according to AoA). The old unit is replaced (many times) with a reprogrammed old unit from somebody elses car. Sometimes they use a new radio which has the new software. In my case, they believe that an old unit got sent to me that had not yet been refurbished. The basis for this is the state of the unit when my dealer installed it. It obviously had not been cleaned out and there was "crud" in the dial. (Obviously I have a bang-up dealership since they never even noticed the debris hanging out or didn't care.) A refurbished radio would have been in "like-new" condition. It will be interesting to see the other responses you get from this forum.

Mine does...
I had mine replaced once (before they were aware of the problem) and once again when the problem persisted (after they were aware of the problem). I haven't had any problems with the new unit. No flashing, no frequency drift, setting change.
