Default Poll: Front Mount Intercooler

One of my clients, Under Pressure Fabrication & Distribution is thinking of developing a front mount intercooler kit for the 1.8T. They're local here in Westminster, Southern California.

How many people would be interested in a kit? It would probably be cheaper than APR. The cheapest FMIC kit I've seen is $850.

Please let me know because this will determine if they will produce the kit or not. Thanks!

Default If it will fit under the A4 bumper... decrease the amount of piping, and will be cheaper than

the SPP IC, I'll be interested

Default if they could develop an FMIC comparable to APR and otheres....

and sell it for substantially less, it WILL sell.

Default Getting it to fit under the bumper while having enough volume to be a significant improvement...

Therein lies the trick...

Default I actually am getting an S4 bumper in a couple of weeks, so the clearance issue isn't as big

a concern for me. But in order for this FMIC kit to sell well, it must fit under the stock bumper. Price is of course just as big, if not a bigger, concern.

Default on top of that, tuning is another issue.

The FMICs currently available are only fully optimized if a chip program is tuned specifically for it and the turbo setup it's used with. In order to get the most out of this proposed FMIC, someone will need to write a program that takes advantage of its internal volume and flow characteristics.
