Default Is it possible for APR to make a tuned down StageIII,for the Tip people. Someway

reworking the ECU to bring the Horses & Torque down to a safe level for the Tip trans, maybe like a little higher than the K04#'s. I really like the whole stage III package, seems the most orignal & well balanced for a real Turbo upgrade.

Hmmm, maybe like a Stg 3 that runs at 1 bar...

Tip can take 250 hp, right? I thought that PES has a G2 for the tip, that's 280 hp.

Default It's not the hp that's a prob per say...

it's the torque. the torque converter can only handle so much.

Default Oh. The Turbo makes more torque than the PES G2?

Not that I don't believe it, I FINALLY got to drive one in a Passat the other day, man what an engine that is!! Makes me wish for it, but there is no doubt that the 2.8 30v is much quieter and smoother (granted the Passat is not as quiet in general as the A4.)

Default tiptronic transmission can handle the power, the transmission is used in the A8l, s4 & A6 2.7t more

the problem most likely is the torque converter, which must be upgraded on the a4 to handle the extra power and torque

Default From the numbers that were posted, yeah, the stage 3 makes more torque.

The stage 3 makes 300ft/lbs. The G2 makes (from the post the other day), 245ft/lbs. Not sure where the peak is for the G2. The Stage 3 torque peaks at 3800 rpm.

Most v6's are smoother than a 4-banger.
