problem accelerating fast

when i accelerate and shift quickly to next gear the engine's rpm's will go up but it won't accelerate right away. it will take a few seconds and then you can feel it kick in finally, then it will accelerate fine until the next gear. if i shift slow it doesnt do this...im thinking it might be a clutch problem?

--its on a 99 1.8t quatrro

Just kidding.....if it's really taking a few seconds then maybe your clutch/some part of the assembly is getting funky

its not lag..cause im getting normal boost all the way through the power band. it feels like its something in the drive trian. i didnt know if the rear ends go out on these cars much or not

a) reply in the subject line, b) if his RPMs are moving normally

it isn't turbo lag. Sounds like a slipping clutch to me.

slipping clutch....

if it's happening in the lower gears it could mean you have a leaking seal on the engine or trans. you'll only know what's up after you pull the trans.
