Problems with engine over revving

I just had a Stage II Clutch and a Light Weight Alum. Flywheel installed. I notice when I shift at 3000 the rpms continue to climb an additional 400rpms and at 4000 it will climb an additional 600rpms. I'm afraid if I shift 5500 it will reach red line.

I've also tried shifting differently by taking my foot off the accelerator and waiting 2 seconds before pushing in the club. The same problem occurs.

Has anyone ever ran into a problem like this? Could it be due to the aluminum flywheel?

Oh noes, not red line! I've gone WAY past red line in my car that is an automatic

and it doesn't even faze it.

What engine do you have? That would help us a LOT.

perhaps you are leaving your foot on the accelerator too long?

I never had the problem before. Once i disengage the clutch the rpms usually drop but now it continues to climb. It doesnt really faze the engine but annoys me.

You have to understand my car has been in the shop for the past 2 months for an upgraded clutch, timing belt, and flywheel. After investing $2,600 on parts and labor, i just want a smooth running car.

the smoothest running cars I've ever had.

I understand your point though. You might need to adjust your pedal timing since you have a totally different clutch now.

Don't even ask me how bad I struggled when my diesel got it's new clutch put in...
