Default Quattro lost tration TWICE last night WTF! rantish

once at a stop light, it had been raining for quite a while still a little drizzle, i got challanged by an old 3 series with //M stickers all over it (not an //M). reved to 2k light green, his wheels just spin, i start to go then, i feel one wheel let go, grip, then others let go, then grip, in five seconds i had gone about 15 feet. Then later going around a corner not fast a all the car seemed fine the just oversteared to the right, i was perpindicular to the road. This is a weird feeling, because as you try to correct you may have a wheel grip, which throws the car around, then it will loose traction and another will gian traction, this makes the car do something completely different. didn't touch a thing, luckily there was very little traffic.

What condition are your tires in?

Default As much as I love Quattro...

its still connected to the pavement through four little patches of rubber. A 3500lb car is going to slip around a little bit here and there, even with Quattro.

Default 1. Prolly as you passed over the paint strips you lost traction. What kind of tires do u have?

2. sounds like driver error. I'll bet you came off the gas midturn.

Default What tires are you running? Got any tread left on them?

I noticed a huge improvement in wet handling when I went from my old Nitto 450R's to a new set of Michelin Pilot Sports.

Default Agreed....Quattro is not invincible.

This is no different than all those SUV drivers that think they can go anywhere just because they have 4WD.

Lower your expectations and drive smoother...ease into the throttle.

Revving to 2k RPM and losing grip? It must be the tires or something weird on the pavement....
