Does your engine seem to consume quite a bit of oil? Mines seems to be getting more and more thirsty. I've been putting in maybe about two quarts a month (mobil 1 5w30). There is not a drop of oil to be found in or around the engine bay or floor of my garage. The car seems to make quite a bit of white smoke from the exaust for about the first 10 minutes of driving, the it settles to little or nothing at all. I thought the car was buring oil, but the smoke dosen't have that bluish tint that hints to buring oil, it's white as the clouds in sky. I'm truly baffeled on this one, so if any of you guys know what it could be or have a similiar problem, I'd really like to hear your thoughts on this one. Thanks!

I have to check my oil every 2 weeks cause 1 month would be a little too long in my case. But yea, my 12v consume so much oil. I went through a case of oil just like that!

im not burning any more oil than normal. how many mile per week do you drive?

Wife's car has the 12V 2.8. No abnormal oil consumption. I almost never have to add.

I add about half a liter every 2000km. (I'm Canadian, I don't use quarts and miles :-D )

Hmmm, I'd say around 200 miles a week...

I've never been exactly sure what weight to use as it seems everyone here has a different opinion on that one. I switched from 15w-50 to 5w30 about two months ago. The car seems to run better now in the cold weather (I'm in NH), but it does seem to consume a little more oil than it did before. If it makes any difference, the car has around 135,000 miles on it...

Sae problem with mine on 5W30... My motor is basically brand new too.. (rebuilt) get a heavier oil.
