Question: My Front End Steering feels look and clunks when I turn wheel from side to side? Ideas?

Question: My Front End Steering feels look and clunks when I turn wheel from side to side? Ideas?
This problem has gotten worse... It is on my 98 A4 2.8 QMS
When I go over bumps or turn the wheel the front end doesn't seem to track like it did before and something feels quite loose... I can only think that this could be linked to the control arms? Any ideas or insight would be a huge help. Thanks for your time.
