Default question for those who've fitted the OEM grill trim on the RS4 grille center section...

I *think* some people have done this; I was thinking about sanding the OEM grille ring down and having it painted, but how does the RS4 grille center section work around these slots? I haven't pulled the RS4 grille off the car yet; I wanted to be sure no hacking was involved.

It doesn't ,you need the early model grille trim to work.

Default chris... its for the older grills... where its not going into the vents..

ex. 97-99 grilles...
it is only the surround..
not 2000+ where the grille slits are in the trim.

Default Not to the casual observer but they are different. Grille trim and thickness.Early units are.......

.....75" thick, later grilles are 1.0" thick. Early units had thinner trim without the cuts.

hmmm hard to tell from that distance. guess I'll need to find an older grille to work with.
