I rotate my tires and change my oil in empty shopping center parking lots.

Default I prefer stands. I got a 2 1/4 ton floor jack with 2 stands from Sears for $50 good deal IMO. I've

used ramps before but feel safer under the stands. However they are both fine. If you use ramps makes sure to put chocks behind the rear wheels and yank up the e-brake.

Default Rhino ramps and the like are great and safe, if used properly. If you use jack stands in the correct

I've watched my 2 1/4 ton floor jack slowly drop and would never get under a car with just the jack. I use the ramps unless the job requires taking off a wheel. Then, jack it up and use the stands. Personally, I don't like jack in the tool box provided. I've never used it and will only use it, if it's my last choice like getting a flat.

Are the stands high enough to do things like changeing sway bars, bpv valves etc?

Haven't had to do that yet but they go pretty high. I 'm as High as ramps that's for sure.

Stands should be safe when used in pairs. I've had my jack slowly fall as well.
