Default rapid ticking

rapid ticking sound from under my 97 2.8 under medium acceleration when cold. Does anyone have a clue? Dealer says it's normal. I say no way.

Default Lifter Noise!!!!...(more)

If you don't already....use synthetic oil(I like Mobil 1) from now on!! If you already use Mobil 1 then try the 15-50W oil...although the 0-30W, 5-30W and 10-30W should be all you need for a 2.8(that's what I use in mine, no noise)!!

Most of the older Audi's have lifter noise ALL the time!! The joy of hydraulic lifters!!
