Repost: I Need KW, H&R, FK, or Koni Coilover Impressions???
I am looking for a street/track set-up that is externally height adjustable for a price of $1300 or less
$1045 for KW variant 2 is a great price
SPP told me that H&Rs blow out easily, so they are trying to sell me FK coilovers
GJAime told me about the KW that is a current group buy. Anyone else have this set-up?

Re: Repost: I Need KW, H&R, FK, or Koni Coilover Impressions???
Koni's are a very good street coilover. Depending on your skill, they may be a bit soft for the track. They're fantastic on the street, and very suitable for some occasional track.
FK spring rates are off a bit, and I wouldn't suggest it.
KW's are a better choice, as are the H&R's. H&R's don't blow out any more than any other shock when you consider how many kits are out there.
Though the Vogtland's aren't in the US yet, they'd be another very good option. A little firm on the street, but very track worthy..

I have the Koni's.
LIke them a lot. As Mike said, they're nice on the street and suitable for some track use. That being said, I'm gonna be upgrading my sway bars cause I really had things leaning over on the track the last time I went.
Bear in mind that I started with the Non-Sport suspension.
They're nice because they don't make your kidney's bleed on the street, yet you CAN track with them. Just would want to upgrade a few other small parts.

Ummm, search?
I know I've written volumes on KW's, and H&R's. FK's are relatively new, and plenty of people have written stuff on Koni's.
As for SPP, if they truly said that, I would take your business elsewhere. Before you do, ask them what *percentage* of H&R's fail. That would mean they would have to know the number of H&R kit's sold, AND the actual number of failures. Two numbers I know they don't have.

get the H&R S4 Streets 450/450. my H&R A4 395/395 are perfect for street and big tracks
like Watkins Glen and VIR. But, on the shorter, more technical road courses of Pocono, it's a bit soft. However, the car is predictable FWIW. I also have the 19mm rear bar, which cleaned up some of the understeer. If H&R would sell it, the A4 395 front and S4 450 rear would be perfect - in theory.
KW's are too stiff for street, IMHO. namely, in my neck of the woods; Philly, NJ, NY.
Koni - ick, too bouncy for my taste. Although, you can adjust dampening, which could've been the issue.

If your intentions are definately tracking the car....
Then the Variant 2 may be something you want to look into. With the height and dampening adjustability you will definately be on the right track. If you are serious about track though, then the Variant 3 which is height, dampening and rebound adjustable.

You're confusing him...here is what Skene meant to say...
V2's are dampening adjustable - meaning *rebound* adjustable only
V3's are dampening and rebound adjustable - meaning rebound and compression adjustable
Of course, both are height adjustable.
