Nope....the ECU will not know how much air is entering the engine...not good

Default Depends on the car...if you have 2000 or higher, its not ideal, but it works well enough..

cars built earlier than that have the non drive by wire system and are MUCH more dependent on the maf.

Default Well it will run fine if the maps are very close to what they need to be.

During idle/part throttle the 02 sensor helps to keep the car where it should be, but the problem is that during wot the ecu has to guess how much air is coming in since the 02 is not helping anymore at that point.

Default My car is definitely unhappy with a T28 kit and no MAF.

If im utterly gentle on the throttle and get no boost i can barely limp around. But if i get into boost i get shuddering, and stall outs.

Now im thinking this is because of the bigger injectors with a big turbo kit, perhaps the ECU is going off a back-up map instead of real-time off a MAF reading...im guessing here.

Cheers,
Sameer

Default Tips use the MAF and the throttle angle to determine load, which determines how the trans shifts..

when the MAF and throttle disagree, the shifting is extrememly rough.
