Default search engine down....need brake help

i am changing the rear pads on my 1999 A4 1.8t manual and i cannot turn the rear piston back.
any advice? i have the correct tool to turn the piston and im twisting clockwise. is this correct?
i read the faq and would have used the archive search but it is not available. Btw, im using the ebc green stuff.

Thanks in Advance

Default We used a spanner wrench

You will need to do so several times. We alternated from turning the piston to pressing in with a C clamp and back again.

We did not have the correct tool. We found that some brake pistons were easy and other were a pain in the rear end.

We did three brake jobs in one day - replacing pads and rotors under Criags watchful eye and help.

Did you remove the cap from the brake reservoir?

Default There was a post somewhere here that you may have

grind the pads slightly (a couple of mm each) to get them to fit.

Default Push and turn-- I did four with needle nose pliers - my hand still hurts thinking about it.
