Should I use synthetic OIL only in my 1.8T, if so, what grade MOBIL 1 and how many quarts?

Thanks for the link, from what read, would you say 0W/40 or 5W/30?

Default 5W-30. Skip M1 though. Get Pennzoil Platinum or the new Castrol Edge in that weight
Use a factory oil filter and change every 6-6.5k miles.

I use 4.75 qts every time, but never add a drop.

Default Audi Junkie has chimed in on this quite a bit. I can't remember exactly why
But there are vastly superior oils out there today.

My last oil anaylsis used Pennzoil Plat over a 6.4k mile interval. They told me to keep going next time.

Pennzoil looks good but I think CASTROL EDGE got my win, thoughts?

Cost. At $8/qt, it ain't cheap. PP can be had for $5.50.
