I've owned a B5 A4 more or less since 1998. First up was a 1998 2.8; I traded that in on a 2001 S4 Avant when the synchros started acting up. The S4 is still fine. I then bought my son a 1997 A4 1.8T. What a mistake that 97 turned out to be.

Long story short, I've sunk at least twice the original purchase price into the vehicle on after-market parts, routine maintenance, and some non-routine maintenance. Maybe 90 days ago it was wheel bearings, brakes, an o2 sensor, and a new turbo.

Finally, earlier this week, the timing belt tensioner froze while I was driving his car to work, effectively putting the car out of it's and my misery.

Going to buy a used Integra this weekend.

Default Yeah, these cars can be frustrating. I'm still stuck on mine, though. No way to recover that $...

So I may as well enjoy it.

Default "Frustrating." That's a nice way of putting it.

Every time I start it up it's like, "what's next?"
