Default So...I'm thinking about replacing the turbo oil supply line...

I'm going to do my FXK04 upgrade soon and with 93k on the clock (M1 0w-40 since 5k)I was thinking that it might be a good idea to replace the oil supply line.

I'm not too fond of the OEM piece as it loops around the back of the engine bay and it's really long.

What are my options for aftermarket pieces and routing options?

Searching only yielded lengths, but no specifics as to the fittings required to bolt on.

With all this talk of turbos going, I was also thinking of installing an oil pressure gauge to monitor the oil pressure to the turbo.

This is a whole new territory of modding for me and would appreciate other people's thoughts and recommendations.

This is my daily driver and would like to keep it mostly reliable. =)

TIA!

Default the back of the engine route is a good way of doing it. I might suggest increasing the size though

to prevent coking of the oil when you turn the car off.

see the classifieds for a deal on an oil pressure gauge

Default about 44" plus the end fittings.. I would run further away from the OEM position..

it lays to close to the manifold.. At least with my PES mani its FAR to close. I will be swapping soon and hope that I don't find the line was restricted in half by baked layers of oil.

Cheers,
Joel

Default hehe...I saw that...

...but seeing as that I already have omori boost and egt gauges, I'd opt to get an omori oil pressure gauge to keep the interior consistent.

What size line would you recommend? Also, do you happen to know what fittings I'd need to bolt it on?

Yeah, that bothered me and the fact that the line diameter was so small.

Default be like that...

i'd say any increase you can do will help. No particular size required.

Default Thoughts on using a restrictor w/ a larger diameter line?

Is it necessary or is the pressure drop w/o the use of a restictor negligiable?

Default I don't see the point of a larger oil line if the restrictor is crazy small to begin with

One reason I haven't switch over my new oil line yet. if anything it will have less bends in it, but the oil restritor atp sent me is like a pin size hole.

Default '01 uses a banjo at the block above the oil cooler

this is my APR stage 3 line with their adaptor, which they now make a line that has the banjo on it already since '01+ uses one. I have a new one that I plan to replace the old one, at some point.

Restrictor size will be equivalent to OEM ID of the oil feed line.
