So..it's x-mas day and a friend wanted help putting in a DV he got.
Haven't worked on a "newer" B5 yet. How in the hell do you swap out a DV with all that emissions **** in place???? wtf. First I remove his belly pan (which I no longer have) then, peak under neath and see all the extra crap the newer cars had compared to the older ones (my car=98). We didn't get far cause it was a pita and my fingers were numb (plus I was working on my own car till 1 am last night).

I didnt have much trouble on my '01 . . .
Luckily all the hose clamps were screw-operated, not crimp. Onnce you get one hose off you can push and pull the valve into a place where it's easier to work on.
Then again, I seem to have sprung a boost leak, so maybe you should be more careful than I was.
